School Of Evangelism, Week 4

Our week started off with the opportunity to visit a christian orphanage. We got to help take care of the children that are currently living there. We helped with making beds, ironing clothes, playing with the children, and before leaving we helped with feeding the children lunch.

On Tuesday we prepared for a time of evangelism with youth from the church. Once the youth arrived we decided that we would have our evangelism time focused on blessing other people. So we split into groups and set out, each of the groups stopped at different places and prayed about what to buy, so that they could bless others. It turned out to be a great experience for everyone, we had a time of sharing back and some of the youth talked about how they were scared at first but realized that it was not so bad and that it was important to bless others and share God's love.

CINCO DE MAYO!!! We were meant to go to a parade for evangelism however, the government cancelled the parade (bummer!). Instead of going home defeated we stayed in the near by park and did some evangelism there. We split into groups of three and four with about 20 people from the church. During our time of evangelism we saw fifteen people accept Jesus! Later that night we had another time of 'random' evangelism with the youth from the church. We ended up going to a different park and meeting more people, making new friends!
On Thursday, we were hosting our first Cafe Night! So the previous days we were inviting people that we met from our evangelism times to come to our house (the church) and have snacks and drinks, as well as hangout and talk! It was very successful all of us were able to go deeper in conversations with our new friends and make plans to continue hanging out.

Friday, was spent preparing for church on Sunday. We also had the opportunity to go to the movies with our new friends from the Cafe Night. Later that night we partnered with another church and got to visit a hospital. We gave out food to the relatives of the sick people and got to pray for many of them.

Saturday we were invited to have breakfast at a church member's house, awesome time of getting to know them more and sharing a meal with their family. Skype date with Holly, Hosted/Guest Speaker.

Sunday, church x2! We had the amazing opportunity to speak at two churches! The first service Matt and Sarah shared testimonies and we all joined in and sang two worship songs. The next service Kersti, Kelcie, and Erin shared testimonies and once again we all helped with two worship songs. It was an amazing day getting to bless the two different churches and being a part of their community, everyone here is so welcoming!

I'm Kelcie, I like people, baking, summer weather, the ocean, and Jesus!

Here's a bible verse that inspires me:  Mark 10:28-30

Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!""I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.
