As you may know from my last updates I spent the remainder of July onboard our vessel S/V Ruach as the Ship Manager. Part of my time was to include the passage from Australia to Papua New Guinea but due to some maintenance jobs I was not able to do the sail. It was an amazing time with the team helping them get ready for PNG. They arrived around 6 August and have already been able to run some marine training sessions and are currently looking at some medical deployments.

On August 5 I celebrated my 30th birthday- I never really imagined what life would be like at thirty but I feel so privileged to have spent my 20's living to know God and make him known and I look forward to many more opportunities and adventures doing that! My good friends here in Newcastle planned a birthday party for me which was such a special time together another highlight was that I received 30 individual birthday cards from my family- I loved opening them throughout the week!

As part of our Communication Department we currently have been focused on creating content for some of our upcoming training courses and more recently our YWAM Ships Newcastle annual awareness and fundraising event called Sunrise By The Sea.
Our role is to create the visual story to share what's been happening since last year and more recently what they've been able to do thus far in Papua New Guinea. Our theme this year is 'All Hands On Deck" which is fitting because it really does take a multitude of people, skills, and things to achieve the goals that we have in partnership with government officials in PNG.

The next few months have been filling up and I'm excited for the variety of things coming up, below is an overview of what we've got coming up.

Melbourne for Red Frogs training (mid September)
Visiting family in the USA (end of September)
Brother getting married! (early October)
Annapolis Sailboat Show (mid October)
Red Frogs - Schoolies Outreach (end of November)

I'm currently fundraising for my Red Frogs - Schoolies Outreach and will be sharing more details about how I'll be involved this year (*hint it's something different than previous years!) but in the meantime below is a link to my fundraising page!
