Today one of my co-workers, John, and myself went to a small Australian country town called Dungog, it's about an hour and a half away from where we live.
The reason for our journey out to Dungog was for a high school scripture class. Every couple of weeks they run what's called Scripture Class. It's an incredible opportunity because you can openly share about God and the truths of God. I realised a lot today that many young people don't actually know all that much about Jesus. Our theme for the day was Easter and Jesus is a Superhero. All up we got to share with about 120 aged 13-14 students that were divided into two classes. We played a few games, watched some videos, shared about our own journeys with God and why we follow Jesus, and what goes into the making of a superhero, as well as what sacrifices superheroes have the make, and why Jesus is the ultimate superhero. It was so much fun getting to spend time with all the teens there and getting to encourage and challenge them on what they believe and why they believe. Instead of just having people tell them to believe 'this' or believe 'that' we gave them the opportunity to think for themselves and even got to answer questions that they had. Praise God for the opportunity to go into high schools here in NSW, Australia and proclaim the good news of Jesus! With Love, Kelcie
