After 9 flights and several train rides over the last month, I am finally settling back in Newcastle. This past month has a been a month of celebration, challenges, and revelations. I've been to two weddings, one of which was my brother's in the states, the other a friend's in North Brisbane. It was awesome getting to be part of my brother's wedding and attending my friend's wedding, it is incredible how God can bring two people together, that compliment each other so well. Aside from all the wedding celebrations, I was able to visit my former roommate and dear friend Susan, in California for a few days. She is such a blessing to me and like a sister, it was refreshing getting to spend time with her as she took me to all her favourite hangout places where she lives. With having new revelations, this goes along with our YWAM conference I was able to attend with our SOIYM. The conference was a gathering of people representing YWAM all around Australia and even from South East Asia as well as the Pacific Islands. We heard from a man named Chuck Parry, who works with Bethel in Redding, CA. He oversees some of the 'healing rooms'. He shared a lot about JOY and it was an incredibly inspiring and I loved the simplicity in which he shared. If you want to hear more specific stories from our time in Melbourne, please message me, I'd love to share with you :) Currently, as I said before, I am back in Newcastle and things are cranking away, we only have 5 weeks left of the 2012 SOIYM and we definitely have big plans in this last chunk of time. Some of the things we're up to are----> -Cityfest! It is a free, family-friendly festival event with music, actions sports demos, activities for kids and opportunities to hear and spread the Good news of Jesus Christ. Stay connected on Facebook to get news and updates on artists, event details and more! If you want to read more here is a link http://www.cityfest.com.au. We have the opportunity to show our heart for children & youth because we will be running part of the kidzone as well as help with the youth zone. -Schoolies in Byron Bay, we will be volunteering with a group called 'Red Frogs' as many year 12 students party after finishing their schooling, basically schoolies is like spring break, where many young people make silly decisions. We'll be there to offer help in keeping the young people safe and really show WHO Jesus is, this isn't a preach-fest. -School Seminars, we will also be booked out with doing HS seminars. The main topic for our seminar is imparting HOPE and CONFIDENCE in the youth we share with. I'm really looking forward to all the amazing opportunities we have, so stay tuned for more updates and photos. I have attached some photos from recently including my trip to the states, Melbourne and other stuff we've been up to in the office :)
