2015 to 2016

When I look back on 2015, I’m shocked and amazed but most of all I’m filled with
t h a n k f u l n e s s.
In the last year I’ve never felt so inadequate in the work God has called me to, however, I can tell you without hesitation that in every hard time, difficult decision, every tear filled overwhelming moment- He made a way for the miraculous to happen.
I could write about how it was all about me, the things I’ve learned and grown in, how I’m awesome, instead here are some of the things I’m most thankful for this past year.

  • I’m thankful for my parents and the many tearful phone calls across the world to them, they never once said that I was stupid or just being dramatic but always directed me toward hope, faith and prayer to trust God in who He says He is.

  • My roommates who see right through me and instead of highlighting the fifty million ways I make a mess and am not the best at cleaning up sometimes, they blast me with unconditional love. Sometimes that is an encouraging word or even a square of chocolate. Other times that’s having a nice confrontation with the truth, they don’t let me stick with believing lies.

  • I’m thankful for my close friends that don’t live close. We may not have spoken much this past year but having you in my life actually means a lot to me. I love that we can pick up right where we left off and it doesn’t feel like we’re missing anything.

  • I’m thankful for the generosity of my family, friends, and even strangers who helped this year happen. From rejected visas, to granted visas, unknown plans and vagueness- from USA to Australia to Thailand to Australia and back to USA with a bit of Hong Kong thrown in there as well. We’ve run youth camps, been part of global conferences, and continued developing our outreaches internationally and locally.

  • The 2015 SOIYM- what a group! Dynamic, joyful, full of faith, relentless, I could go on and on: I spent the last six months of the year with these guys and what a whirlwind, my hat is tipped off to them for never giving up, for always pursuing young people with the hope of Jesus, and for having a load of laughs along the way.

Those are just a few things I’m thankful for this past year.
Looking to this new year my desire is to continue seeking love, hope, faith, and peace. We’ve been seeing a lot of momentum and breakthrough in our youth programs and I know that there really is so much more in store for us this year, stay tuned!
Thanks for your prayers, thoughts, encouragements, and love.

Yours truly,
Kelcie

I'm Kelcie, I like people, baking, summer weather, the ocean, and Jesus!

Here's a bible verse that inspires me:  Mark 10:28-30

Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!""I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.
