What Is YWAM?

      Youth With A Mission is an international Christian volunteer organisation Also known as YWAM (pronounced "WHY-wham"), our purpose is simply to know God and to make Him known. YWAM has a decentralised structure that encourages new vision and the exploration of new ways to change lives through training courses(TRAINING), sharing the message of Jesus(EVANGELISM), and by caring for those in need(MERCY MINISTRIES). We are currently operating in more than 1000 locations in over 150 countries, with a staff of nearly 16,000.

Why don't you get paid????

     People are always asking me why I don't get paid for the work I do with YWAM. Just to clarify: no one in the whole organisation gets paid, not even the founders, Loren & Darlene Cunningham. One of our values is to depend on God for direction in how to see the finances we need for the work we do. It's different for every individual, some people have savings, others work part-time (due to my role this isn't an option), many people have churches that support them.  Due to my upbringing of moving around, I don't have a "home church" so most of my support comes from partnerships with friends and family.

What is DTS?

     Discipleship Training School is a six month course, beginning with the first three months in a lecture phase followed by the next three months in a practical cross-cultural outreach. DTS is made for those who are seeking personal growth in character as well as spiritual growth in their relationship with God,
     DTS is also YWAM's entry level course which is connected to the University of the Nations. Throughout DTS students receive short term training to increase their understanding of God and how that understanding can be carried into their lives, no matter what career.

What Is Youth Street?

      Youth Street is a community development project aimed at reaching young people ages 10-17. It was created to provide a safe place where young people feel valued and can learn to build healthy relationships while discovering their life purpose. The vision of Youth Street is to impact a city through its young people.

What is School of Innovative Youth Ministry (SOIYM)?

SOIYM is a six-month training course to equip those that feel called to youth ministry.
This course is designed to develop the students in their leadership skills and understanding of youth culture.
